The Brief

The Brief

Description

A sleep-tracking app selling an inherently sensory experience — calm, rhythm, rest — through a landing page made entirely of static screens and stock photography. The product’s core benefit was a feeling. No amount of copy was going to transmit that feeling on its own.

Challenge

Visitors could read every claim about better sleep and still leave with no felt sense of what the product actually delivered. Static imagery couldn’t carry pacing or rhythm, the two things the product was actually built around. The gap between what was promised and what was demonstrated was costing conversions at the exact moment of decision.

Solution

Built motion sequences specifically around breath and rhythm — slow, deliberate pacing that mimicked the product’s own sleep-onset visuals. Removed most static hero imagery in favor of looping, ambient motion that did emotional work text couldn’t. Pacing of the animations themselves became a design decision, not just their content.

Result

App store conversion from the landing page increased 22% following launch. Session recordings showed visitors staying through full animation loops rather than scrolling past. Feedback specifically referenced the site “already feeling calming,” the exact effect the product itself was built to produce.
