Description
Meridian is an architecture studio known for restrained, light-driven buildings — yet its old website flattened every project into the same cramped grid of thumbnails. Prospective clients commissioning multi-year builds were forming their first impression from a portfolio that felt smaller than the work itself.
Challenge
The studio’s buildings are experienced through scale, sequence, and natural light, but the website reduced them to postage-stamp images buried three clicks deep. Serious clients — developers, cultural institutions, private patrons — couldn’t sense the ambition of the practice, and the studio was losing pitches before the first meeting.
Solution
Rebuilt the site around the photography, treating each project as a full-bleed spatial narrative rather than a catalogue entry. Introduced a calm editorial type system, generous whitespace, and a slow, deliberate scroll rhythm that mirrors moving through a building. Project pages now lead with the architecture and let the plans, materials, and process reveal themselves in sequence.
Result
Inbound project inquiries rose 41% within two quarters, with a marked shift toward larger cultural and residential commissions. The studio reported that new clients arrived already familiar with specific projects, and the founders now point to the site as their strongest business-development tool.
